Salary Range: $18/hr.
Weekdays: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. & 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, performs semi-skilled work in fueling, washing and cleaning vehicles for a public transit system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for a standardized service program which includes re-fueling, interior cleaning, and exterior washing on public transit vehicles.
- Maintains routine records of activities performed and materials used.
- Reports damage, defects or malfunctioning parts to proper authority.
- Cleans garage and parking areas and performs other related cleaning, sweeping, mopping or dusting duties.
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Must be available to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Must be a self-starter; able to work independently.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and the general public.
- Uses sound, independent judgment in daily work activities and exercises discretion; has strong ethical standards.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or G.E.D. required; basic knowledge of fundamental vehicle terminology. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the specific requirements may be substituted.

This job is sometimes performed in essentially an outdoor environment, subject to extremes of both hot and cold weather and wet conditions. Employee must be able to work outside daily. This position is exposed to various chemical and gas/diesel fumes daily.
Must be physically able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 100 lbs. daily.
