Memorial Route 42 Detour |

Due to the Florida Dept. of Transportation road closure of George Jenkins Blvd. (Rt. 92) effective JULY 19th the Citrus Connection’s W. Memorial Route 42 will be rerouted and will make no stops between the Downtown Bus Terminal and Strain Blvd.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Bus Shelter Donated by Publix Charities |

Tuesday, February 16th there was a ribbon cutting for a new bus shelter at Lake Miriam Shopping Center, located to the North of Publix, dedicated for use by the citizens of the Lakeland area.

Bus Route Change, Bartow Express, 22 X Free Rides And Increased Park & Ride Options |

Effective MAY 26, 2009, the Bartow Express will no longer provide service to the Town Center (old Sears Town). It will provide service throughout the day to and from the Park & Ride lot located at Rose Street and Main Street on each trip.

WI-FI Connection Available on
Citrus Connection Public Transit Buses

Commuters are now able enjoy free internet access on several Citrus Connection routes. Citrus Connection, the local public transit service, added Wi Fi Routers to buses with a heavy concentration of commuting riders to provide an engaging use of their time should they desire.

Citrus Connection Public Workshop Notice |

The purpose of the public workshops is to solicit public comment on a $0.15 to $0.25 fare increase under consideration and discount fare pass adjustments accordingly with an effective date of October 1, 2008.

Lakeland's First Park & Ride Now Open |

The first Park & Ride facility operated by the Citrus Connection opened for business July 7th. The location of the Park & Ride is under the Rt. 98 overpass at the corner of Main and Rose Streets.

Citrus Connection Relocates Administrative Offices |
|
Friday, February 22nd , will be moving day for the Administrative offices of the Lakeland Area Mass Transit District (LAMTD). The move will be a short distance from its present facility. The current address is 1212 George Jenkins Blvd.; the new address is 1248 George Jenkins Blvd.

Citrus Connection Wins National Marketing And Communications Award |

The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) announced that the Lakeland Area Mass Transit District, operating as the Citrus Connection, has won first place in the 28th Annual AdWheel Award competition for its entry in the category of Interior Bus Cards.
